The Volcano

I created a fabulous fabric volcano. If it wasn't so frustrating, it would be hysterical. I volunteered (clearly my first mistake) to help sew blocks for a project. My assignment--a 20 " Lone Star block. Okay. I decided to use some of my stash to practice on before cutting the fabric supplied for the project.

Well, after two days and massive amounts of swearing and sweating--I produced a gorgeous--volcano disguised as a lone star. OMG--you should see how the center poofs up! I

I know I'm not the only one...

Ouch, ok it's the nicest thing I can come up with at the moment. I've been working on a quilt top and I thought I was in the home stretch, but it is not to be. Turns out that the blocks I've been making, which are good are coming up short. Now I have to go back and make several more to complete the pattern, or just finish the pattern out on three sides of the quilt. Do you think anyone would notice that the fourth side didn't get done???

Last weekend we got over 24" and they say we may get another 18 - 22" tonight and tomorrow. We are not use to snow like this. But I love it. I'm keeping the birds fed and our pantry is good for a while so we are doing good. AND my rotary cutter and sewin… Continue

More snow?

No, it stopped earlier in the a.m. However, it's been so windy this afternoon that what settled on the trees, shrubs and roofs is blowing around and now looks just like a blizzard - all over again. DH plowed out our 500 ft driveway, then went across the road and cleared out DD & DSIL's 150 ft driveway. It's so pretty, the fields, the barn covered, etc., but I know when the it gets dark, the roads are going to be a mess tonight. Keep safe everyone, pets included!
